For him – by Nicolas
clothes: a 3-piece suit. You’ll look awesome at work, and you’ll just have to take off the jacket at the pub. No need to go home: put it on the chair and enjoy your drink. I suggest a waistcoat made out of another fabric like satin, so you’ll look classy in daylight and more casual in the pub, with satin’s subtle shiny effect. Also, wear a shirt that looks plain on the outside, but has got beautiful patterns on the inside. You’ll be able to comfortably roll up your sleeve and show how cool you can look like in a pub.
shoes: loafers. Clearly, sneakers are too casual, but it wouldn’t be comfortable to wear derby shoes all day. Loafers will perfectly handle the job of making you look classy at work and be comfy at night.
accessories: tie and a pocket square. You can remove the tie once you’re out of the office. Knitted ties aren’t so common and have a interesting texture (and I just love them!). If your waistcoat happens to have a pocket on the chest, casually put in your pocket square. Why not choose another pocket square than for work? Like one with a special design and colours. I can already see how awesome you’ll look!
For her – by Claire
You just want to enjoy this time with your loved ones.
clothes: a dress, teamed up with a blazer. You can accessorize the outfit with a light scarf around your neck, practical especially if you’re working in a freezing office with lots of climatisation (own experience). And when going out, you can remove the blazer and casually put the scarf around your shoulders. Or even change scarf (you can easily bring another one in your handbag).
shoes: with a reasonable heel height. It may seem less sexy but let’s be honest: you are going to spend all workday in them PLUS the evening. We are human after all! I propose wearing shoes with a medium-height heel for less struggling and pain. Still classy AND comfy!
jewellery: none except for a good-looking watch, which will give your outfit an even classier boost and of course, will be able to help you keep track of the time, which is so practical these days. Many people say a watch is useless because they have a smartphone. But if your battery dies?… I chose a model from Longines, which I think, represents the ultimate degree of timeless elegance.
make-up: light during the day, you can easily carry another lipstick in your purse and make a quick lipcolour change before going out. It may seem like nothing but it will change your outfit completely! You can easily go for a brighter colour such as a seductive dark red for instance.
Put in a nutshell, at work, you can’t really wear excentric or relaxed clothes (unless you work in the fashion industry or in a graphic design atelier for example). So keep it simple and classy. Plus, it has to be practical: taking less time to prepare yourself in the morning equals more sleeptime! 😉Let us now if you liked this article, see you next time ! xx
