We are very lucky this beginning of year, as we are already able to present to you a post realised in collaboration with an amazing jewellery brand from Geneva called TodayDesigner. 

These amazing pieces are made out of leather. Yes, leather! I was surprised too, at first. Especially regarding the ‘cuff’ bracelets. The designs are really minimalist and I just love that you  can wear several pieces at a time without it seeming too much. 

About the designer

Daniela, the designer, was born in a family of artists – her mother was a singer, her father is a painter and her sister a fashion designer. She was into art since she was very little. And discovered the world of jewellery design later on and totally loved it.

Why TodayDesigner’s jewels are unique

Daniela explains that the leather is a very interesting material to work with and the pieces have such light weight that people that are wearing them sometimes forget that they are wearing something. She thinks that jewels are supposed to feel like a second skin –comfortable to wear and with a maximum of effect. I totally agree with this! 😉

TodayDesigner was created one and a half years ago and the aim was to create new, feminine and why not sexy jewellery using recycled materials – here recycled leather. Daniela wanted to show people that it is possible to create nice things and not waste anything at the same time. As the brand grew, she had to start ordering new leather as well, so now she combines both: the new leather and the recycled one.

Ce n’est que le début de l’année et nous avons déjà le privilège de vous présenter un article réalisé en collaboration avec une marque de bijoux genevoise: TodayDesigner.

Ces magnifiques pièces sont faites en cuir. Oui, du cuir ! Ça m’a aussi surpris au premier abord, surtout par rapport aux bracelets manchettes. Les designs sont très minimaux et j’adore le fait qu’on puisse combiner plusieurs pièces sans que ça fasse « too much » !

À propos de la créatrice

Daniela, créatrice de la marque, vient d’une famille d’artistes – sa mère était chanteuse, son père est peintre et sa sœur est styliste de mode. Cela fait depuis qu’elle est toute petite qu’elle aime l’art, et a découvert le monde du design de bijoux seulement plus tard et ça a été le coup de foudre.

Ce qui rend les bijoux de TodayDesigner uniques

Daniela explique que le cuir est un matériau très intéressant à travailler. En effet, les pièces sont d’une telle légèreté que les personnes qui les portent en viennent parfois à oublier qu’elles portent des bijoux ! Selon la créatrice, les bijoux devraient être comme une seconde peau : agréable à porter et produisant un maximum d’effet. Je suis totalement d’accord ! 😉

La marque TodayDesigner a été créée il y a tout juste un an et l’objectif était de créer de nouveaux bijoux féminins –et pourquoi pas sexy– en utilisant des matériaux recyclés : ici du cuir. Daniela souhaitait montrer aux gens qu’il est possible de créer de belles choses tout en évitant le gaspillage.

Au fur et à mesure que la marque grandissait, elle a eu besoin de commander du cuir neuf également. Dorénavant les deux sont utilisés : du cuir neuf et du cuir recyclé.

    Hi Claire,
    this jewelry brand sounds really great. I like the background and that the pieces are made of recycled materials.
    I see, that every item is made with a lot of passion and love for every detail. The two heart bracelets are my favorite pieces. It is an advantage that every piece feels like a second skin. I don’t like to wear jewelry or clothes which restrict me in my moves.
    You look very beautiful and elegant with this jewelry.
