Lausanne City Guide – Sky Lounge (Hôtel Royal Savoy)

The place

The Sky Lounge is situated in the heart of Lausanne, on the very top of the luxurious Hotel Royal Savoy. The first thing you will notice when scrolling through the pictures is that this place offers a gorgeous view over the city of Lausanne, the Leman Lake as well as the Alps. I really think it must be the most beautiful rooftop terrace in Lausanne for a fresh drink in Summer. When we heard about this place, we knew we would have to try it out, and so we did.

The food

We arrived around 16:00 I think and we were craving for a goûter (you should have guessed by now that it is definitely my favourite meal of the day!). So I ordered a cherry-flavoured green tea, Nicolas ordered a home-made hot chocolate and we chose to try out the mochis. Mochis… Either you love them or you hate them. I must admit that I was not a big mochi lover when I arrived to the Sky Lounge, even not at all. But guys… guys! I fell in love with their mochis. They were so incredible, I mean, so incredible that we ordered some more. Let’s just say that our food experience at the Sky Lounge was amazing.

In one word

To put it in a nutshell, our food experience at the Sky Lounge was amazing. Everything was so delicate and good. We enjoyed our time at the Sky Lounge very much. We can only recommend you to visit this place if you are ever in Lausanne. Personally, I know that we will be heading back there to try out the lunch or dinner suggestions sometime! It would be crazy not to do so, don’t you think?

Le lieu

Êtes-vous déjà allé(e) sur la terrasse du luxueux Hôtel Royal Savoy, une des plus belles terrasses de Lausanne? Si ce n’est pas le cas, voici quelques photos pour vous donner envie. Lorsque Nicolas et moi avons entendu parler de cet endroit, nous savions qu’il fallait que nous y fassions un tour. Cette somptueuse terrasse donne en effet vue sur la ville, sur le lac Léman et sur les Alpes! Que demander de plus?

Le repas

Le goûter est certainement mon repas préféré de la journée, avec le brunch, je dois l’admettre. Nous sommes arrivés sur la terrasse vers 16h00 et avons rapidement commandé un thé vert à la cerise pour moi et un chocolat chaud pour Nicolas. Nous avons aussi décidé d’essayer les mochis. Les mochis… soit on n’aime, soit on n’aime pas! Je dois dire qu’auparavant, j’ai souvent été déçue par des mochis de moins bonne qualité, beaucoup trop pâteux et sans raffinement. Mais là, je peux vous assurer que ces mochis-ci étaient les meilleurs que j’aie eu l’occasion d’essayer! Ils étaient goûteux et délicats. Nous en avons même recommandé une seconde portion! Mais ça, c’est un secret.

En un mot

Notre expérience culinaire au Sky Lounge a été incroyable. Bien sûr, il y a encore beaucoup de choses à goûter, mais il semblerait que la qualité soit au rendez-vous. Tout est si délicat et raffiné, il y a de quoi faire rêver. Si vous passez par Lausanne un jour, n’hésitez pas à profiter d’une pareille expérience, je vous le recommande. Personnellement, je sais que tôt ou tard, nous y retournerons pour le déjeuner ou le dîner. Ce serait de la folie de ne pas y retourner, vous ne croyez pas?
