Hi there! First post of 2017, yay!

As I lived in Manchester during one semester, it would have been a shame not to shoot a look in the city. So here it is. We chose a spot which would represent the mood of the city, with the unmissable red bricks. These are basically everywhere.

I bought this dress during my first time ever in Manchester last Summer in an amazing vintage shop with bargain prices: The Thrift Shop. I just love skater dresses in general and I completely fell for this deep blue velvet dress with its delicate lace collar.

Regarding the parka, it’s been an investment that is worth it! I actually bought it in a mountain shop. Therefore it’s a waterproof and high-quality jacket, which turns out to be quite fashionable as well.

Finally, for me, this look represented quite well the mood of Manchester: urban, practical, a hint of old an a touch of modern. A mix-up of many influences. Manchester is home to so many cool bands such as The Stones Roses, The Smiths, Oasis, The Buzzcocks and so many more. It’s a city that has a long and passionating history. And you kind of feel the weight of history when walking down these streets.

Comme j’ai vécu à Manchester pendant un semestre, ça aurait été dommage de ne pas faire un look dans la ville. Nous avons choisi un endroit qui représenterait le mieux possible l’ambiance de la ville, avec ses inratables briques rouges. Celles-ci sont absolument partout!

J’ai acheté cette robe lors de ma toute première visite à Manchester l’été dernier, dans une boutique vintage à prix très raisonnables: The Thrift Shop. J’adore les robes patineuses en général, et j’ai eu un énorme coup de coeur pour cette robe en velours bleu nuit avec son col en dentelle.

Quant à la parka, c’est un investissement qui en vaut la chandelle. Je l’ai achetée dans un magasin de montagne, donc c’est une veste de qualité et waterproof. De plus, elle s’est révélée être plutôt mode.

En résumé, pour moi, ce look représente plutôt bien le ‘mood’ de Manchester: urbain, pratique, une touche de vieux et de moderne. Un mélange d’influences. D’ailleurs, Manchester est la ville d’origine de tellement de groupes géniaux: The Stones Roses, The Smiths, Oasis, The Buzzcocks… C’est une ville qui a des choses à raconter. Et on s’en rend bien compte en s’y promenant.
