The Late Engagement Announcement

Wait, what?

Yes, you read that right. We are taking advantage of the pre-Valentine’s Day mood to officially announce to you that we got engaged. But the thing is, it is not really new. As a matter of fact, Nicolas did his proposal already 4 years ago. He offered me a ring, which I am wearing all the time as a necklace pendant. It is basically hiding in plain sight, as you can see it on almost every picture of me.

We never thought it was really important to tell the people around us, basically because we knew that we would be the longest-engaged people in the history of mankind, as we decided that we would get married only after we both graduate and move in together. So no actual marriage in a near future! Nonetheless, we happened to casually drop this info, the engagement, at events or even during dinners at our friends’ and every time, the reaction was huge. “Oh really? That’s amazing, congrats!” And we then realized that it maybe was time that we officially announced it to our readers and followers as well.

Oui, vous avez bien lu. Nous profitons de cette ambiance pré-St-Valentin pour vous annoncer que nous nous sommes fiancés. Néanmoins, cela ne date pas d’hier mais plutôt d’avant-hier. En effet, Nicolas a fait sa demande il y a quatre ans déjà. Il m’a offert une bague à cette occasion, pièce que je porte en permanence comme pendentif de collier. Eh oui, l’indice n’était pas discret, puisque vous pouvez voir cette bague sur quasiment chaque photo de moi.

Nous n’avions jamais pensé qu’il était important de l’annoncer à notre entourage, principalement parce que nous savions que nous ne nous marierions pas de sitôt et que nous serions les plus longs fiancés de l’histoire de l’humanité, car nous avions décidé de terminer nos études et emménager ensemble au préalable. Ainsi, pas de mariage concret dans un avenir proche! Néanmoins, il nous est arrivé de faire
brièvement mention de nos fiançailles lors d’événements ou de dîners chez des amis et à chaque fois, la réaction a été mémorable. “Quoi? Vraiment? C’est génial, félicitations!” Nous nous sommes ainsi rendus compte que oui, il était peut-être temps de finalement l’annoncer à nos lecteurs et followers également.
